Additional Information: This paper critically examines a course developed for a Science and Engineering Foundation programme at a London higher education institution. The course draws on reflexive pedagogical approaches to problematise scientific knowledge, highlighting the contextualised, socially situated nature of meaning making. The paper draws on the students’ Learning Journals to consider their experiences of the course, to what extent they practised reflexivity and to reflect on the value of developing reflexive pedagogies in science education.
