Additional Information: This chapter makes an original contribution to theorizing reception and text and uses a multimodal approach to argue for a re-thinking of these concepts with respect to digital technologies and practices. It uses two illustrative examples of students’ use of digital texts in UK secondary school classrooms to explore how new technologies re-mediate processes of reception. The chapter was double blind-peer reviewed for acceptance. It is significant in its theoretical contribution.
