Additional Information: This book has provides some practical guidance to curriculum development and is the first early years book on ICT informed by a number of major research initiatives to improve ICTs practise. Curriculum guidance materials, developed as part of the EU funded Developmentally Appropriate Technology in Early Childhood (DATEC) project, are further elaborated in the evaluation of the IBM KidSmart initiative. Training analysis was carried out in another EU supported project; Kinderet, and also in the authors’ work on curriculum development with Gamesley Early Excellence Centre and in evaluating Northamptonshire’s Foundation Stage ICT strategy. There is a strong theoretical base to the book and projects have all been drawn upon to provide exemplifications of good practice.
