Additional Information: This article grew out of an international mobility project with Institute tutors, trainee teachers and TURKU University, Finland. The authors gathered data from focus groups, teaching observations, reflective diaries and a presentation event to compare initial teacher education in both the UK and Finland. The aim was in line with the Bologna declaration to promote an European dimension in HE through curricula, international inter-institutional co-operation and mobility for staff and students. This paper has been closed as the permission of the publisher has not been verified.
