Additional Information: This strategy was based on a long consultation process conducted through analysis of survey data and research outputs, surveys of teaching practitioners and leaders at all levels of education - with over 400 written responses, conferences including capture of discussion data, and through reports from stakeholder organisations who used the consultation document (Towards a Unified E-Learning Strategy) within their own organisations. Development of strategy was further based on consultations with the DfES officials and government agencies responsible for carrying out the action plan. it new forms the basis of the work of Becta, as an agency of the DfES. Although a policy document it has had citations in several academic journals (40 in Google Scholar). It has also been widely cited on the Web (over 50,000 references in Google).
