Additional Information: This book draws on the findings of 4 ESRC reseach projects to develop an analysis and interpretation of the strategies of middle class parents choosing schools for and seeking advantage on behalf of their children. It is based on over 400 research interviews from high-rated research studies. The book contributes specifically to evidence and conceptualisation of choice strategies in education and more generally to recent class theory and work on class formation articulating with the work of Savage, Butler, Devine etc.. The book is widely reviewed (including a review symposium in British Journal of Sociology of Education) and cited and has been used as a basis for comparative research in Argentina, USA, Australia, Taiwan, Spain, Brasil, Canada and elsewhere.
