Drawing on research and personal experiences of learning and teaching it outlines pedagogical strategies for coping with defensiveness amongst students in the classroom who are engaging with anti-racist curriculum and the concepts of whiteness and white-privilege. It contributes to the feminist, anti-racist pedagogical literature and is based on research from a PhD study funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
