|Additional Information:||a. A multi-authored book from a DFID funded research project of which I was co-director. b. My specific contributions were co-direction of the project which resulted in the book, co-editor of the book, sole authorship of chapter 5 , joint authorship of Introduction and Chapter 6. c. The book examines the role that education has played and can play in the promotion of 'successful' forms of engagement with the global economy. Successful globalisation is defined as economic growth with income equality and socail peace. The book reviews the general literature on education and globalisation alongside the specific experiences of the East Asian tigers, China, India, Kenya and Sri Lanka. d. Please note that this is a multi-authored book - Green, Little, Kamat, Oketch and Vickers. I am the co-director of the project and co-editor of the book. Because my surname begins with L and not F my name appears second. I understand that none of the co-authors is including this book in their RAE list e. The complete book ms was anonymously refereed by 2 reviewers external to DFID. I made revisions to my chapter and to sevearl other aspects of the book in line with the comments from reviewers. f. If the RAE committee would prefer, for reasons of overall balance of the RAE submission, to include a chapter rather than a book I can include the details of my sole-authored chapter (let me know) g. the book WILL be in the public domain over the summer. I checked the final set of proofs last week (end May 07)|
