An overview of policy and practice issues in telephone and parenting support, presenting secondary analysis of data on calls to the Parentline Plus helpline, evaluation of call handling, and interviews with callers. c. The research provided evidence of an expanding high quality service for callers with significant, unmet parenting support needs. In evaluating call handling, it informed the development of helpline practice; data on caller characteristics and levels of unmet need had wider relevance to policy and practice relating to parenting support. d. Published in an internationally recognised journal, and national policy impact in informing decisions about helpline funding. e. Based on a multi-method approach, including analysis of 120 randomly sampled tape-recorded calls to the helpline, and semi-structured interviews with 100 callers, and secondary statistical analysis of data on all calls to the helpline during a 14 month period. f.
