Originally presented as a workshop in an international education leadership conference, the article was accepted for publication by JSBM, the only research-based publication in the field in USA. It reports on the first national sample survey of bursars in England and Wales, provides case study illustrations of bursars’ practice in schools, identifies models and draws implications for school leadership teams.
