||a) Teenage pregnancy and young people in and leaving care. b)Participatory qualitative research methods used and review of literature relevant to both teenage pregnancy and foster care. c) This paper presents findings from a research study on teenage pregnancy and young people in care contributing original insights to foster care practice. d) e)This paper presents the findings that are relevant to foster care from qualitative interviews carried out with 63 young people and 78 professionals.Close attention was given to ethics: given the background of many of the young people many of the young people involved, great care and sensitivity was given to how young people participated in the research. They were given control of the interviews which were centred around open-ended questions and the use of participatory techniques such as timelines, to aid discussion. f) peer-reviewed by the journal. g) Lead author (about 70% contribution).
