Abstract

This paper analyses a creative writing techniques in which EFL learners are asked, in groups, to create a poem from keywords. Their creative output is then contrasted with a published poem using these words. The paper shows how this simple technique creates positive motivation in the classroom and helps learners approach poetry in a creative spirit.
