Abstract

This chapter applies an intergenerational lens to the study of fatherhood. Included are three generations of males: grandfathers, sons and their sons from particular groups of families, including those whose experiences had been disrupted by migration. Focussing on two contrasting cases, the chapter examines change and continuity in the practice of fatherhood across family generations and the processes of transmission involved.
