Additional Information: 1. Second report (first focused on England) presenting findings from a study which formed part of the Equal Opportunities Commission's General Formal Investigation (GFI) of gender segregation in the labour market. 2. Findings drawn from a questionnaire survey of 535 school pupils aged 14 and 15 in North East and South Wales, telephone survey of 18 employers, and interviews with 10 key informants. 3. Report contributes to literature on career decision making, young people's attitudes to gendered nature of jobs and post-16 pathways, and on the standard/nature of careers education and guidance. 4. Unwin's contribution 33% as co-author and PI for study.
