Additional Information: The American Psychological Association’s journal on family published this longitudinal study which received attention in both the UK (the Politician; BBC) and the US. It showed that closeness to fathers and closeness to mothers in adolescence predicted good relationships with partners in adulthood. Closeness was predicted from earlier involvement with the child, but only in fathers, particularly for daughters.
