Additional Information: Published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, internationally recognised to be the leading journal covering both child and adolescent psychology and psychiatry, this study of 400 children from Gaza and the West Bank tested the effects of child-focused interventions involving structured activities, supported by provision of equipment and training of facilitators. Compared with the group who did not receive the intervention under study, there was a decrease in the level of emotional and behavioural problems and an increase in parental support, but no change in children's hopefulness.
