Additional Information: In this chapter I explore why viewing teachers’ knowledge as bounded and objective limits our understanding of how teachers use their subject expertise. I argue that understanding both academic and school geography as dynamic knowledge constructs means that we have to re-evaluate how we understand teachers’ subject knowledge and subject expertise. I explore alternative ways of viewing teachers’ knowledge and argue that these reflect a conceptualisation of knowledge that can be helpful for teachers preparing students for a post-modern world.
