Additional Information: The chapter is a case study of the role of the university in the Cambridge School University Partnership for Research in Education (SUPER) an established partnership investigating the role of schools and university education departments in the creation and translation of knowledge about teaching and learning. The research for the chapter involved the investigation of the different perspectives on the role of SUPER amongst academic staff in the Faculty of Education. The case study forms an original contribution to the debate on school-university partnerships through its analysis of the perceptions within the university with regard to the nature and status of the knowledge shared through partnership and the generation of social capital. The book is a key study of research partnerships in the UK context.
